Yesterday...I reluctantly went out for an excursion with my friend...for a test drive actually. We had planned to go for the ride(that of a Harley) first and then go to Daryaganj to get my friend a guitar. Though my escorting guide accidentally abandoned me in the middle of the ride and I had to carry the whole 1200cc package(that kept on haulting in between) right through the middle of the unpredictable traffic of Delhi, the experience as a whole was a nice one. We left the slick humungous showroom after a while and caught the urban lifeline, the metro, straight for Chawri Bazar. We boarded off the destined station and found ourselves in the middle of a cobweb of narrow streets crowded with men, women, kids, rickshaws, trucks, autos, beggars, handicapped, rickety shops, showrooms, dogs and cows and yes offcourse, the scorching sun and continuous strident noises. Unaware of the exact route and aware of the possibility of getting struck in this cobweb, we decided to get a lo...

Sangharsh and Maya: The way we choose

Hmmm....this piece of mine is the result of a continuous clash between my repository of knowledge and my thought. The knowledge of science and the thought of conscience. So to begin with ...we were taught and convinced in our institutions of a principle that if no energy is being spent or no work is being done...then the system of concern stays in its stable state. That simply means that the true stable state(natural state) of a system is achieved without the transaction of energy or work through it. In context to this knowledge of science...my conscience lately in the process of deciphering the meaning of our struggles...asked me..."if stability is our natural state...then why do we have to struggle for it...and when we struggle(transact energy or work) then are we moving away from our stability?". To make it more clear... I would like to share these thoughts: if I need a good career...I need to work over my mind, if I need a good physique...I need to work over my body, i...

Moh and moksh

Worth...Ravan sought it from his throne...and ended up devastated...shurpanakha sought it from a man and ended up mutilated...Vali sought it from his revenge...and ended up decieted...Ram sought it from his subjects and ended up unrequited. This process of seeking worth from the act of possession is what enslaves the person who seeks it. The king who boasts over his throne's possession actually enslaves himself to his association with the throne. The moment the throne goes away...there follows his worth. In our day to day transactions of knowledge, money, power and other such manifestations we fail to keep the subtle gap between possession and witnessing. We try to accumulate, posess and then hoard on the things that we witness. And then later from this pile of our possession we derive our worth. We fail to realise that in this process of attaching our worth to something external to us, we render ourselves vulnerable to becoming unworthy subjected to the tainting of our object o...

Redirecting evolution...

The subject was carrying 'something valuable'... Therefore they killed the subject...no...wait...first they followed the subject...then mobbed the subject so that the subject could not run... then they stabbed the subject repeatedly...and then finally threw the subject out of the train...whoa! they just secured the fate of humanity...they set the perfect example of what humans should do as their foremost duty...afterall that is the ultimate purpose of the human race I guess...to restrict beef from being eaten. Yes, the 'something valuable' was allegedly beef as believed and made to believe by 'they' and the subject was a 15 years old innocent who went to get some goodies for Eid. Poor kid...he didn't know that he should go out of his house only after removing his traditional white cap and off course without a packet of food that may resemble beef. Otherwise the least thing that can happen to him is being killed. It's simple. Just follow the two rules an...

The obscured dichotomy

"Your answers are what you are...Your questions are what you can be" The above thought of mine made me try jotting down the mounds of queries and realisations that followed the thought. On peeling off through the layers of this mound I found that our answers are limited by us just the same way we are limited by our questions. Its actually a very subtle thought to realise, you should be patient enough to gulp it down. So bear with me in the upcoming monologue . You see, most of us, round the clock try to search for answers; answers to petty questions, answers to some unsolved queries, answers to feed our angst; but the questions keep stuck to their throne like the way they always are, they stay there like a stubborn monarch who we have accepted as the absolute. We dont even realise and those questions create a concrete cage around us and gag our mind. We can no more see outside that cage now. And that cage, that Question becomes our universe. It actually happens to u...
